My research focuses on understanding how consumers perceive, interpret, and communicate about the world around them. I spend a lot of time thinking about claim objectivity (facts vs. opinions), memory (for people and attributes), and wondering how we can try and help to address important social problems (disinformation, polarization, and social isolation). I also daydream about contributing to research on marine biology... but have yet to find a nice way to integrate that with the pipeline (so mostly just aquarium visits for now).
At IESE, I've been teaching in the Master in Management (MiM) and MBA programs. I've taught courses in both Marketing Management (core; past syllabus) and Marketing Implementation (core; past syllabus), with an average teaching evaluation of 4.6 (out of 5.0). We also have turtles on campus and that makes me happy.
I received my Ph.D. in Management from UCLA Anderson and my B.S. in Brain and Cognitive Sciences (Course 9) from MIT.
Just over a decade ago, I helped launch Lean On Me, a mental health non-profit that provides anonymous text lines for non-crisis peer-to-peer support on college campuses across the US.
